What is EDO RAM (SIMM, PS/2)?

This is one of the elder types of memory modules for home computers and is being used since the Pentium1 processor. The data bus which leads to the memory is nowadays working with 64 bits. The EDO RAM memory module needed to be revised as it only worked with 32 bits. The EDO RAM memory modules possess 72 pins and require a tension of 5 volts. The pulse frequency of the EDO RAM memory module amounts to 66 MHz. The access times are about 60/70ns depending on the memory module.
